Tony Khan Says AEW Will Send Shockwave Through Pro Wrestling

Tony Khan says things are looking good for AEW.

AEW All Out was another huge night for the company with the wrestling world still buzzing about several matches on the card.

While the match between Will Ospreay and PAC has been widely praised online, the stunningly violent main event between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page has left fans divided. The heated rivals did battle with chairs, a cinder block, a staple gun, a hypodermic needle, pieces of burned wood, and more inside a steel cage.

Elsewhere, Jon Moxley, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli turned their backs on Bryan Danielson in the minutes after the star retained the AEW World Title with a win over Jack Perry. But according to Tony Khan, there are even more big things on the way.

Tony Khan Predicting Big Things For AEW

On September 6th AEW filed a new trademark for “AEW: Shockwave” for purposes relating to “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.” While the filing appears to hint at some kind of new show, Tony Khan is determined to give little away.

During the post-All Out press conference, Khan was asked about the trademark by Corey Lieb of Wrestling Observer, but he declined to share any details.

“It would be safe to say that AEW is set to create a shockwave throughout all of professional wrestling. I think people are going to be talking about what they saw at AEW All Out, which was a huge business success for us, did really really well at the NOW Arena, big sell out show, and also really well on pay-per-view.

I think it bodes well and creates anticipation for Dynamite. We’ll continue to send that shockwave through the world of professional wrestling here at AEW,”

During the same press conference, Khan said “I believe AEW is here to stay on TNT and TBS” signaling that a deal between the company and Warner Bros Discovery is just around the corner. He added there’s a 90% chance of deal being announced within the next month.
