Tony Khan Addresses If AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door 2 Will Happen

Tony Khan

Tony Khan is optimistic about AEW’s working relationship with NJPW.

AEW and NJPW have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for some time now. That symbiosis reached its peak when the two companies came together for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV last June which, by most accounts, was a resounding success.

So much so, that some fans have already started asking if there will be another show like it in 2023.

Tony Khan used his appearance on the In The Kliq Podcast to answer this question:

“Yes, I think so.”

He then elaborated and explained why he and his inner circle of decision-makers want to have a second Forbidden Door show this year.

“We have a great partnership with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, they’re doing more events in America and we’re working closely with them as good partners and of course we always build up this big event, AEW and New Japan coming together, Forbidden Door and I think Forbidden Door 1 was a big success. We’re looking forward to doing it together again. They send a lot of their top stars to AEW and to Ring of Honor and I love working with them. I think it’s been a great relationship and there’s a lot of trust between the parties. ”

Other topics discussed on that podcast were Tony Khan’s thought on the matches announced thus far for AEW Revolution and Jay White possibly wrestling for AEW.
