Tony Khan Dismisses AEW Negativity From WWE Hall Of Famer

Tony Khan wants to focus on the positives of AEW rather than the negativity spewed by a WWE Hall of Famer.

Many people have strong opinions about AEW as a company whether it’s positive or negative.

The fact that AEW recently signed a new TV deal extension that will pay them over $550 million for the next three years is impressive and good for the pro wrestling business because it means more people have jobs in pro wrestling. However, some haters will criticize everything that AEW does.

Eric Bischoff is a WWE Hall of Famer who is most known for being the guy who ran WCW when beat WWE in the Monday Night Wars television ratings battle in the late 1990s. Bischoff would go on to work for WWE as an on-screen General Manager as well.

In his current role, Bischoff is a podcaster who has verbally attacked AEW for several years, even though he appeared on screen for AEW in the past as well. AEW Owner and booker Tony Khan has been called out by Bischoff plenty of times in the past as well.

Tony Khan Doesn’t Care What Eric Bischoff Says About AEW

When Tony Khan appeared on the K&C Masterpiece, he quickly avoided talking about Bischoff and instead spoke positively about AEW.

“I have no idea. I don’t really care what he says. We have done really really well and we have a great thing going with AEW and something to be really proud of. We’re not only, for years to come, be doing shows on TBS and TNT, but we’re going to set the record for the longest run of pro wrestling ever on TNT.

It’s pretty amazing because for a company only five years old, we’ve accomplished so much. We set the world record for wrestling ticket sales and we’re just going into this new media rights deal that is historic and it hasn’t even kicked in yet.

Starting January 1, every week, you can watch Dynamite, still on TBS, but we’re going to be livestreaming on Max, which is a top streaming platform and, I think, the best streaming platform. We’re going to have AEW every Wednesday night and every Saturday night on Max, in addition to TNT.

It’s really important for us because cable is massive and massive for sports and wrestling. TNT and TBS are staples of cable, as Eric himself knows very well, but it’s really important for the future to also have a foothold in streaming, and that’s what we’re going to have now with AEW on Max. I think AEW is doing fantastic.”

The final PPV of the year for AEW and Tony Khan is called Worlds End on December 28th in Orlando.
