Tony Khan Addresses Kenny Omega’s AEW Future

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega’s wrestling future has been the subject of some speculation in recent weeks with WWE possibly on the horizon for the star and now Tony Khan has spoken on the subject.

AEW Revolution in San Francisco was a huge night of action for the company with five championships on the line. In the night’s main event, Bryan Danielson challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in a sixty-minute Iron Man match. MJF managed to somehow retain his gold in sudden death overtime but also made headlines for all the wrong reasons with Tony Khan having to have a “serious conversation” with the star over an incident during the bout.

It was a mixed night for AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Tag Team Champions The Gunns. They both managed to hold on to their titles but Hayter was laid out by Ruby Soho after the bout while The Gunns were attacked by the returning FTR.

The night was not a success for The Elite as The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega lost their Trios Championship to The House of Black. At the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan briefly gave his thoughts on Omega’s AEW future after reports that the star is keeping an open mind about defection to WWE, saying:

“I hope he’s here for a very long time.”

It was also recently reported that AEW has added time to Kenny Omega’s contract for the nine months he missed from the ring in 2022.
