Tony Khan Addresses Adam Cole’s AEW Status After Worlds End Appearance

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan recently addressed Adam Cole’s AEW status.

On December 27, Cole made a special appearance on the pre-show of Worlds End, where he predicted the winners of the Continental Classic matches that were scheduled on the pay-per-view.

At All In: Texas in July, he was scheduled to defend his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher.

However, just hours before the show, reports claimed that he had been asked to relinquish the title due to being medically unfit to compete. Subsequently, Tony Khan announced a four-way match for the vacant championship.

Before the four-way bout, Adam Cole addressed the fans, detailing the injury that led to him in that position. He also was not certain when or if he would return to the squared circle again.

After giving an impassioned speech, he was joined by his long-time friends Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly.

What Did Tony Khan Say About Adam Cole’s AEW Status?

Adam Cole’s appearance during the Worlds End pre-show was refreshing, knowing how great a competitor he is and how sad his situation was.

Tony Khan addressed the media after the pay-per-view, where he was asked about Cole’s current condition. Khan admitted that while he currently did not have any update, he stated that the 36-year-old was doing well.

Well, there’s certainly no pressure. I was just really happy to hear from Adam Cole and I thought the fans would be so happy to see him and obviously, Adam Cole’s been a great champion in AEW and it was important for Adam Cole to step away and prioritize his health and wellbeing.

We love him, and he’s a great star here and absolutely, like he said, when he spoke earlier, we want Adam Cole to be involved in AEW, and I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well and he’s excited about AEW.

So with Adam Cole, no particular update other than to say you can see he’s doing well, and since we last heard from him when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas. It was a sad moment, it was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us so we were so happy to hear from him… He’s very good (at being an analyst). He’s (an) excellent host.
