Toni Storm’s Forbidden Door Is Wide Open
Toni Storm is set for a huge match at Forbidden Door.
With AEW Double or Nothing done and dusted, attention is now turning to Forbidden Door on June 30th. The event will feature wrestlers from AEW, NJPW, and STARDOM, and there have been suggestions that CMLL talent could also be involved.
Prior to joining WWE in 2017, Toni Storm enjoyed an impressive run in STARDOM, so it’s perhaps no surprise she’s cast her gaze back to Japan for a new challenge. After several hints that a major cross-promotional match could be on the horizon, Storm has now made her challenge official.
The star set the ball rolling on AEW Collision by sending a message to the watching world confirming that her forbidden door was most definitely open.
“Just for the record, my forbidden door is… wide open. So I suggest you keep your eyes peeled,”
Toni Storm Set For Action At Forbidden Door
Storm followed that up with another message a day later. At a STARDOM event on June 2nd, a video was played from the AEW Women’s World Champion where she laid down a challenge to Mina Shirakawa.
“Hello, STARDOM, this is your AEW Women’s World Champion and STARDOM legend ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm and this is my trusty protege and STARDOM legend, Ms. Mariah May. Mina-san, I see you’ve been at AEW when I’ve not been around but I’ve been watching you. Oh, I’ve been watching you,” said Storm.
“You do not need to knock, you do not need to ring the doorbell, because I have opened the forbidden door and I want you. Don’t worry, any friend of Mariah’s is a friend of mine. I just want to see what kind of woman you really are.”
Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that Swerve Strickland will defend the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay at the event. The British star earned his shot at the gold in a Casino Gauntlet match on the May 29th episode of Dynamite.
The event will also play host to a multi-person ladder match for the vacant TNT championship.
