Toni Storms’s AEW Double Or Nothing Title Match Made
Toni Storm has taken on all comers in recent weeks, and now the AEW Women’s Champion’s luck has run out as she now knows her Double Or Nothing challenger.
On a special Thursday night Collision, AEW announced that Skye Blue was returning in her hometown of Chicago at Beach Break. Blue was part of a four-way title eliminator match also featuring AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. Before the show, the other two competitors were revealed as a current champion as well as a new AEW signing got their chance to earn a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.
The woman who won the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title from Mercedes Mone, AZM, was confirmed for the match, as was Mina Shirakawa, who was set for a big push following her AEW debut, according to reports. And it looks like that’s the case after all.
Mina Shirakawa Beats Toni Storm
At Dynamite Beach Break, Mina Shirakawa made an instant splash as she pinned Toni Storm to win the title eliminator match, booking her shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Immediately after the match, it was announced that the title match would take place at Double Or Nothing on May 25.
The winner of that bout will likely clash with the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament for the gold at All In Texas. The final of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will see Mercedes Mone clash with Jamie Hayter.
