Toni Storm Proud To Be “The Lucha Whore”

Did you know Toni Storm loves Lucha Libre?

Since losing to Mariah May at Wembley Stadium, Toni Storm has been on hiatus from AEW. However, she’s kept herself busy.

This included a short spell in Japan where she challenged Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Title.

Up next for Storm is a match with La Catalina at the CMLL Viernes Espectacular event on October 18th. The match had been due to take place on October 11th, but it ended up being postponed after Storm was unable to travel due to Hurricane Milton.

During an interview on the October 16th episode of CMLL Informa, Storm said she’s looking forward to her debut as only she can.

“I am very, very excited to come to Arena Mexico. I have never been before. I very much look forward to meeting all my Mexican fans who have been demanding that I come to Mexico City for years and years. I love Lucha Libre. I am known worldwide as the Lucha Whore, so I am happy that I can finally come to CMLL.

I might never want to leave. I’ve been interested in a Lucha Libre championship my entire life, and it is a travesty that I haven’t had one yet, so soon I will become a new champion of Mexico. The last time that I had an enchilada, it reappeared fully formed in the toilet, so I’m very nervous, but I’m willing to take a chance.

I’ll do whatever it takes to put on the grandest show of all time in Mexico City. Chin up, tits out, and watch for the shoe,”

Toni Storm Celebrates Incredible Year

Away from the ring, it was recently announced that Toni Storm had topped Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Women’s 250 list. Jordynne Grace landed in second place while 2023 winner Rhea Ripley rounded out the top three.

During the evaluation period, Storm transformed into her “Timeless” character before winning the AEW Women’s Title for a third time and enjoying a 281-day reign.

Storm’s run at the top came to an end at All In with the climax of her highly acclaimed storyline with Mariah May. It’s long been rumoured that Storm will get her rematch with May at Grand Slam Australia in February 2025.
