Toni Storm Named AEW’s MVP
The performances by Toni Storm are not going unnoticed by an AEW legend who feels she’s performing at a high level.
In the main event of AEW Grand Slam Australia, “Timeless” Toni Storm became the Women’s World Champion by defeating her former ally Mariah May. It put an end to May’s reign that began at AEW All In last August after May turned on Storm months earlier.
The story between Storm and May has been going on for well over a year and is one of the longest storylines in the history of AEW.
As part of the story leading up to Grand Slam Australia, Storm acted as if she had amnesia and didn’t even remember her successful reign as “Timeless” Toni in the past. It was all mind games because Storm realized she was still Timeless and managed to beat May when the title was on the line.
Jim Ross Believes Toni Storm Has Put On An MVP Level Performance
At AEW Revolution, four-time AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will defend the title against Mariah May in a “Hollywood Ending” match that will likely put an end to the feud.
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross spoke to co-host Conrad Thompson about how Storm has become one of the Most Valuable Players in all of AEW.
“I think that if you had an MVP award to give to somebody in AEW right now for performances in recent weeks, it would overwhelmingly be given to Toni Storm. She’s been the best performer, I think, in the company, and the young lady that she’s working with is right there with her, Mariah May.
“Golly, Conrad, Mariah May has come out of nowhere, and she’s just here, and all of a sudden, she’s a star. That’s hard to do. So, anyhow, I’m high on Mariah May and Toni Storm’s story. Boy, they’ve got a good one going, and they work well together. They hold nothing back.”
