Toni Storm Reflects On Three Month Love Affair With Stan Hansen

Toni Storm has given an interesting take on wrestling in Japan.

As she prepares for a shot at the IWGP Women’s Title, Toni Storm teamed with Mina Shirakawa to defeat champion Mayu Iwatani and AZM. It was a good night for Storm on September 28th as she picked up the win by pinning AZM.

Off the back of that win, and looking toward her match with Iwatani, Storm addressed wrestling in Japan as only she can.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of her next outing Storm recalled taking a famous Stan Hansen lariat, kind of.

“To make a long story short, I once had a 3 month love affair with Stan Hansen. And on our last night together, as my back was dripping with what turned out to be chewing tobacco, he turned to me and gave me some advice. He said ‘when you’re in Japan, you’re a foreigner. But when you’re in the ring, they’re in your country.’ And then he gave me a lariat, but not with his arm.”

Toni Storm Staying In Japan

The former AEW Women’s Champion was speaking ahead of her match with Mayu Iwatani on October 5th. The match will take place at Stardom Nagoya Golden Fight, with Iwatani’s IWGP Women’s Title on the line.

Storm hasn’t wrestled in AEW since losing the Women’s Title to Mariah May at All In.
