TNA Wants WWE Star For Hall Of Fame
A former TNA wrestler who has thrived in WWE is somebody that Total Nonstop Action wants for their Hall of Fame.
Total Nonstop Action launched as a company in the summer of 2002 and while they have been through a lot in those 22 years, they are still going strong to this day.
In 2012, ten years after the company launched, TNA started its Hall of Fame with Sting as the first inductee. In the years that followed, wrestling legends like Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Gail Kim, Abyss, Team 3D (Dudley Boyz), and others were inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame.
Most years, Total Nonstop Action does their Hall of Fame induction ceremony around their Bound For Glory PPV in October, which is like the company’s WrestleMania in terms of being the biggest and most important show of the year.
It has been reported by Fightful Select that TNA plans to continue the Hall of Fame this year when Bound For Glory takes place in Detroit on October 26th.
Fightful noted that they haven’t heard who is being discussed for this year’s Hall of Fame although “numerous sources in the company confirmed it is in the plans, and that there were multiple options that were discussed.” The Hardy brothers Matt & Jeff Hardy have said they would be honored to be inducted, but it hasn’t been discussed with them.
According to Fightful, TNA is interested in having AJ Styles as their Hall of Fame inductee this year. The TNA working agreement with WWE over the last few months has opened up the possibility that former WWE and TNA World Champion AJ Styles could be inducted this year. However, Fightful added that there was no indication that it was a set plan this year.
AJ Styles Is One Of The Biggest TNA Stars Ever
While AJ Styles has had an incredible WWE career starting in 2016 that has seen him win two WWE Championships, in the eyes of many fans he’s always going to be one of the biggest Total Nonstop Action/Impact Wrestling stars ever.
During his TNA run, Styles was a five-time World Heavyweight Champion who also held nearly every other major championship in the company. Styles worked for TNA from its launch in the summer of 2002 until the end of 2014.
AJ Styles returned to WWE television this week on Smackdown when he faced Carmelo Hayes in singles action. After being a heel for most of 2024, Styles was back in legendary babyface mode. The match was stopped due to Styles suffering an ankle injury, which was likely just for storyline purposes.
