TNA To Introduce New Championship

TNA Santino Marella

A new championship will be introduced to TNA Wrestling that has a name familiar to wrestling fans.

The wrestlers in TNA Wrestling have multiple championships that they can win, whether they are in the men’s division or the women’s division.

However, a change is being made to the Digital Media Championship that will be renamed the TNA International Championship. There is an International Title in AEW as well.

In a segment that aired on TNA Impact, Director of Authority Santino Marella announced the change as detailed on TNAWrestling.com.

Director of Authority Santino Marella promised a special announcement regarding the TNA Digital Media Championship – and he delivered!

On the latest episode of iMPACT!, Marella would interrupt self-proclaimed champ Steph De Lander and declare that he was taking back the title. Not only that, but the Digital Media Championship will be transformed into the TNA International Championship, with a tournament culminating at Unbreakable to determine its rightful holder. Honoring one of the most infamous matches in TNA history, the Unbreakable 2005 bout between AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe, every match in this tournament will be a 3-Way match.

The TNA Digital Media Title debuted in October 2021 with WWE’s Jordynne Grace s the first champion. Joe Hendry was the longest-reigning Digital Media Champion who held it for 266 days.

Three Tournament Matches Announced To Crown TNA International Champion

The first three TNA International Title Tournament matches have been announced.

* AJ Francis vs. Mance Warner vs. Sami Callihan on Impact on March 10th.

* Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin vs. Steve Maclin at Unbreakable PPV on April 17th.

* Zachary Wentz vs. JDC vs. Eric Young at Unbreakable PPV on April 17th.

The TNA World Heavyweight Title is currently held by Joe Hendry while Moose is the X-Division Champion and the International Title will be a third option for male wrestlers in the company.
