TNA Stars Removed From NXT Title Match

Two TNA stars who were gunning for WWE gold have been pulled from their title shot under dubious circumstances.

Over the past few months, WWE’s partnership with TNA has been going from strength to strength as Impact and NXT each see regular invasions from the other side. This has also included stars from each side getting shots at gold, most recently with Joe Hendry unsuccessfully attempting to dethrone Ethan Page in the main event of No Mercy.

On the September 10th edition of NXT, it seemed more TNA stars would get a shot at glory as Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel of The Rascalz secured a match for the NXT Tag Team Titles, currently held by Axion and Nathan Frazer. The duo won their chance at gold on September 3rd when they defeated both Gallus and Hank & Tank Ledger.

However, the TNA pair have now been replaced.

TNA Stars Replaced By Former WWE Tag Team Champions

NXT General Manager Ava shared a video on social media where she revealed that The Rascalz were now unable to compete due to “somewhat conspicuous circumstances.” It won’t be a night off for the NXT Tag Team Champions, however, as Ava went on to reveal that they will instead defend their gold against The Street Profits.

The 10th of September edition of NXT will also see Giulia make her WWE debut against a main roster star and TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has issued an open challenge for her title on the show.
