TNA Star Credits Michael Hayes For Teaching Them “More Than Anyone” In Wrestling
TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy paid tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Michael P.S. Hayes, acknowledging his pivotal role in shaping his and his brother Jeff Hardy’s wrestling careers.
Taking to his X account, the current TNA Tag Team Champion expressed his gratitude for Hayes’ mentorship and influence. In the heartfelt post, Matt shared a photo featuring himself, Jeff, and Hayes captioned with the words
This man taught us more than anyone. We will always be grateful, Michael Hayes.
His tribute highlights the enduring impact Hayes had on the Hardy Boyz, who went on to achieve legendary status in the wrestling world. Hayes, who is best known for his time in the legendary stable The Fabulous Freebirds, managed the Hardy Boyz during a crucial period in their WWE careers back in 1999.
Under Hayes’ guidance, the Hardy brothers gained significant momentum, drawing fans with their high-energy performances and innovative moves. Hayes not only provided managerial expertise but also joined the brothers in the ring, participating in several matches. Their partnership, though impactful, was short-lived; Hayes was removed as their manager in August 1999.
