TNA Looking To Sign Popular Ex-WWE Superstar
TNA Wrestling wants to bring in a former WWE Superstar.
In a shocking announcement on social media, R-Truth announced he was set to leave WWE.
Not only is Truth universally loved backstage and by fans around the world, but he was just a week removed from wrestling John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The star had been with the company since 2008, and despite rarely featuring at the top of the card, he was known to make the best of whatever creative he was given.
TNA Looking To Sign R-Truth
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared an update on how Truth’s departure had gone down within WWE and what might come next. Unsurprisingly, “a lot” of people were unhappy about the move, given how popular Truth was.
“There were a lot of wrestlers who were very unhappy because he was so popular with the talent,”
Meltzer confirmed that Rhea Ripley was wearing an R-Truth t-shirt backstage at Raw, but removed it before the show went on the air. It had previously been reported that WWE banned talent from wearing R-Truth merchandise on the show.
However, it seems Truth won’t have to wait long to get back in the ring.
“Those in TNA have already said that they want to make him an offer, and for that company, he’ll come in fairly hot.”
Truth previously wrestled for TNA between 2001 and 2007, and during this period, he became the first Black NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
It’s been reported that Triple H was the man behind the recent releases, after it was felt Truth was overpaid compared to his position on the card.
