TNA Could Go Head-To-Head With AEW On “WWE-Associated Network”

WWE’s impact on TNA is growing.

In July, Anthem Sports Group president Carlos Silva claimed that TNA was potentially within two months of announcing a major new media rights deal. A deal that could even see Impact air live every week.

However, his comments did come with the caveat that tapings wouldn’t necessarily be in a different location each week.

There’s been an air of positivity around the promotion in 2025, largely thanks to its partnership with WWE. This had led to speculation that the sports entertainment giant could purchase the company, but this has been denied by Silva.

But, that doesn’t mean that WWE’s influence isn’t being felt in negotiations around a new TV deal.

WWE Could Influence TNA Media Rights Deal

According to Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, that new deal could see TNA Impact move from Thursday nights to Wednesday nights, putting it directly up against AEW Dynamite. Interestingly, Impact would also move to a “WWE-associated network.”

Although there’s been no confirmation that this network is the CW, its interest in TNA is genuine. The CW network is currently the home of NXT.

When asked about the prospective deal, Carlos Silva said that more meetings would be held later in the month. But crucially, he didn’t deny the speculation that Impact could go up against Dynamite.

Multiple sources indicated that “WWE has a degree of influence” on the negotiations, but Silva said that the relationship between WWE and TNA has not extended beyond talent exchanges and promotion that fans have already seen in 2025.

There has been growing speculation that WWE is looking to counter AEW as much as possible, and could even use TNA to do it. In this scenario, the endgame would be to build TNA into the number two promotion in North America.

WWE is already planning to put John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar up against AEW All Out, and could move Cena’s retirement match to counter Worlds End in December.

There’s no word on how far talks have progressed, but Alba stressed that nothing has been signed.
