TNA Get Rid Of Ex-WWE Talents

Two former WWE talents have now been shown the door by TNA as the company makes some major changes behind the scenes.

TNA Wrestling appears to have been in a state of flux since Scott D’Amore was fired as company president in early 2024, shortly after the successful rebrand from Impact Wrestling.

Anthony Cicione replaced D’Amore in that role but he has now left the company as TNA brings in a new president amid major changes behind the scenes.

Ex-WWE Stars Josh Mathews & Christy Hemme Leave TNA

These changes include former WWE stars Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme also being let go by TNA. Mathews joined TNA as a commentator in 2014 shortly after his release from WWE. Mathews was a part of the original series of Tough Enough and had been with WWE since then, principally as a commentator and backstage interviewer.

Most recently, Josh Mathews worked for TNA as Senior Producer and Senior Director of Digital Media. But he is not alone in departing.

Former WWE star Christy Hemme has also been let go from her role overseeing TNA’s social media. Hemme returned to TNA in 2022 after her previous ten-year spell as a ring announcer and backstage interviewer ended in 2016. Hemme had previously worked with WWE after winning the first Diva Search in the company in 2004.

A statement made by TNA to Sports Illustrated’s Jon Alba confirmed they had left their roles but shed no light on why they had been let go:

Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme are no longer with the Company. We appreciate their commitment to TNA throughout the years, and wish them well in their future endeavors.
