TNA Making Changes Behind The Scenes
TNA Wrestling has made some changes behind the scenes with some familiar names no longer having roles in the company.
Changes are going on in TNA Wrestling in terms of some of the people who will be in key roles for the wrestling company that has existed for the past 23 years.
It has been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that a new executive was brought in by TNA as an Executive Producer and his name is George Veras. He has a history working for some major organizations like ABC Sports, NBC, CBS’ NFL Today series, The Cleveland Browns, and The Pro Football Hall of Fame during his career.
Veras is expected to put together his own team, which is why other moves were made within the company.
Mark Brown has been hired by TNA as a Director, according to PWInsider. Brown worked for ROH when it was owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and has worked with NJPW for their events in the US in the past as well.
Other moves include Anthony Cicione exiting his role as the TNA President. He had been in the role for the last year. Cicione will remain with TNA’s parent company, Anthem Entertainment Group.
Josh Mathews has departed TNA after working there for over a decade. Mathews started in pro wrestling over 20 years as a Tough Enough competitor, then he worked for WWE as an announcer before moving to TNA. During his run with the company, he was a lead play-by-play announcer for many years and has been working as a Senior Producer behind the scenes.
Christy Hemme has also been let go by TNA after being in charge of the company’s social media. Hemme started in pro wrestling in WWE in 2004, joined TNA as a talent a few years later and has had multiple roles in the company.
John E. Bravo and Ingrid Isley are now working in the Talent Relations aspect of the company. Bravo has had many different roles in the company while Isley is the floor manager. TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim oversees the Talent Relations department.
It was also mentioned by PWInsider that there don’t appear to be any changes to the creative side of the company.
Joe Hendry Focused On Being TNA World Champion
The TNA World Champion and the company’s most popular wrestler is Joe Hendry. The powerful Scotsman recently appeared in the WWE Royal Rumble, which was the first time the current TNA World Champion had been in a Royal Rumble. Hendry worked multiple WWE events for the NXT brand in 2024 as well.
Despite appearing at many WWE shows over the last year, Hendry is focusing on representing TNA Wrestling as the World Champion of the promotion.
“My job is to be the TNA World Champion and my job is to represent TNA, to elevate this championship, and to elevate the company. So my focus is on TNA Wrestling.”
The next TNA tapings are on February 20th and 21st in Orlando while their next PPV/PLE is called Sacrifice on March 14th.
