TNA Champion Hints At WWE Return
A popular WWE return could be on the way.
In November, it was announced that Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt had signed new contracts with TNA. The new deals will keep the TNA World Tag Team Champions with the company for another 12 months.
However, neither man has hidden their desire to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and one day step back into a WWE ring.
During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Matt Hardy reiterated that he and Jeff would love to be inducted into the Hall of Fame before hinting at future appearances for the sports entertainment giant.
“That was actually one of his [Jon Alba, Extreme Life of Matt Hardy co-host] bold predictions, The Hardys will wrestle a match in WWE before the year is over. [How do you feel about that?] I feel good about that, that’s one of the great things about working with TNA. They know that we do have a lot of love for WWE. They know that we would like to do the Hall of Fame.
We filmed some content for WWE that’ll probably be dropping pretty soon. I saw the Dudleys did it the day before us, and I know theirs just dropped recently, but we have a good working relationship with them. I think the perfect storm arose. I think you could see us pop up even as TNA champs on some WWE show at some point. Who knows?”
WWE And TNA Announce New Partnership
The comments from Hardy came shortly before WWE and TNA announced a new multi-year partnership. The new agreement will see the two companies work closer together than ever before with talent continuing to crossover between the brands.
Ariel Shnerer, Senior Vice President of Content & Distribution for TNA Wrestling and Anthem Sports & Entertainment described the union as a “historic relationship” while Shawn Michaels said he was looking forward to the relationship evolving and growing well into the future.
Meanwhile, it was reported in late 2024 that top TNA star and multi-time Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will sign with WWE when her contract expires.
