TNA Boss Carlos Silva Issues WWE Denial
Carlos Silva is adamant that he led the charge.
In recent days, it was announced that TNA had reached an agreement with AMC on a new media rights deal. The new contract marks a massive step towards stability for TNA, with flagship show Impact set to air every Thursday at 9pm ET.
The new multi-year deal will officially kick off on January 15, 2026.
Following the announcement, it was confirmed that the working relationship between WWE and TNA will also continue. TNA President Carlos Silva added that the partnership played a huge role in the company securing the deal with AMC.
Carlos Silva Discusses WWE’s Role In TNA’s New Deal
Those comments and other general speculation suggested that WWE had even played a role in negotiations, and it was the sports entertainment giant that got the deal over the line. However, Silva has claimed that this wasn’t the case.
While speaking to The Takedown on SI, Silva said that he had been the one leading the talks, but he did keep WWE “in the loop.”
“No, we did all the negotiations ourselves with me leading the charge on the TNA side, and then [Creative Artists Agency] leading the charge as our representative and our partner on the deal.
Look, WWE and NXT are very important partners to us. So we kept them in the loop. They knew what was coming. They knew about the deal before you knew about the deal. But no, they’ve got their own deals. They’re very busy with their deals. So they let us go out and cut a deal and get on a major network. And I think they’re happy for us. And we were happy with the way it went.”
