TNA Boss Finally Admits To Huge WWE Departure

TNA President Carlos Silva

TNA boss Carlos Silva has been left with no choice but to admit his company has lost a top star to WWE.

Starting in mid-2024, Joe Hendry began appearing on WWE television as the relationship between the sports entertainment giant and TNA grew closer and closer. As a result, Hendry has featured regularly on NXT, as well as competing at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41 as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent.

His association with WWE was so ingrained that on the September 16 edition of NXT, Robert Roode even suggested that it was time for Joe Hendry to focus on the NXT Championship.

In early October, TNA president Carlos Silva admitted he was surprised by the comment from Roode because Hendry was definitely still part of his promotion:

It caught me off guard when he said it as well. So yes, he is, and he is until he’s not. He is. Joe has been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to work through that together as good partners do.

But now, just a matter of a few weeks later, Silva has had to admit that Hendry’s not with TNA anymore.

Joe Hendry Moves On From TNA

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Helwani worked hard to get Silva to admit that Joe Hendry had definitely left TNA and was now full-time with WWE:

That’s right. I’m super happy for Joe. Super happy for WWE. We all kind of worked on it together. Joe is a great talent and a super good guy.

Although, according to Silva, the Scottish star could potentially still be seen on TNA television:

Joe (Hendry), you’ll see on NXT all the time. As part of our partnership, you may see Joe come back and be on TNA shows because that’s part of what we do with WWE and NXT, we share wrestlers.
