TLC Returning To WWE For Huge Title Match
WWE is already looking past WrestleMania 41 as a huge TLC match has been booked to settle a complicated title mess.
The last time the WWE main roster saw TLC matches take place was on the final TLC PLE in 2020 when Roman Reigns defeated Kevin Owens to retain his Universal Championship.
Since then, two TLC matches have taken place on NXT, but now the iconic match is returning to SmackDown as Nick Aldis took matters into his own hands.
Nick Aldis Calls For TLC
On SmackDown in Las Vegas, The Street Profits defended their WWE Tag Team Championship against The Motor City Machine Guns, but that match ended in chaos as DIY got involved to spoil it. An irate Nick Aldis was fed up with the chaos engulfing the WWE Tag Team Title and took possession of the title belts and informed the three teams that they would settle things once and for all when they met in a TLC match for the championship on the next episode of SmackDown.
The TLC match may well be WWE’s way of softening the blow on these teams as the WWE Tag Team Title is one of only three main roster titles that will not be defended at WrestleMania 41. The other two titles are Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s US Title and Lyra Valkyria’s WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. However, Valkyria will team with Bayley to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title.
