Major Update On TKO’s Position On Reselling WWE To Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon WWE Champion

Recently, numerous reports have circulated about Vince McMahon potentially buying back WWE from TKO Group Holdings.

Former employees Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo fueled debates after discussing McMahon’s possible return to the company on their Coach and Bro podcast.

McMahon had resigned from WWE and TKO after a sexual trafficking lawsuit was filed against him.

Coachman discussed speaking to industry insiders, who claimed McMahon may want to reclaim his company.

Russo spun his own theory, saying that the former boss may have had an inkling about the lawsuit and stepped back, but not before appointing TKO as a placeholder.

They even theorized the employment of Vince McMahon loyalists Bruce Prichard and Michael Hayes with WWE.

While Coachman and Russo continue their speculations, David Meltzer appeared on Wrestling Observer Radio to set the record straight.

He stated that TKO has no interest in selling and has dismissed all rumors suggesting otherwise.

The stories of him [Vince McMahon] somehow buying WWE, and I even saw a line in a story about how TKO is looking to sell WWE and it’s like, aside from that being denied all day, TKO has just saved between $100 million and $150 million by essentially removing so many jobs and things like that because they could operate UFC and WWE with the same office staff.

Now that Meltzer has refuted claims of TKO selling WWE to McMahon, only time will tell how quickly all related rumors die out.

Vince McMahon Still A Respected Figure In WWE

Despite facing several lawsuits, McMahon remains a respected figure in WWE, according to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso.

Barrasso also claimed that the 79-year-old has the support of various employees.

Speaking with wrestlers off-the-record, there is a great deal of support for McMahon, as many note that McMahon is still held in high regard.

Even if Vince McMahon is interested in reclaiming WWE, his road may not be easy due to many logistical difficulties.
