The United States Championship will be up for grabs at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

At Night of Champions, Solo Sikoa scored a surprise win over Jacob Fatu to claim the United States Championship. However, that victory wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for a large slice of help from Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and the debuting Hikuleo, who has since been renamed Tala Tonga.

On the following episode of SmackDown, Sikoa formally brought Tonga into his new faction, MFT — My Family Tree.

Meanwhile, Fatu has been at war with Sikoa and the faction since turning attacking the former at Money in the Bank. In this battle, he’s formed an alliance of sorts with Jimmy Uso, and the pair teamed to beat JC Mateo and Sikoa on the July 4 edition of SmackDown.

Solo Sikoa To Defend United States Title At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Although it was Fatu who lost the title to Sikoa, it’s been announced that it will be Jimmy Uso who will get the first shot at the new champion. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the match official in a match on social media.

“Good morning everyone, it’s your SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.

It is a beautiful morning, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and it seems like a great day to make a decision about Saturday Night’s Main Event.

And that decision is as follows – I have decided that Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa will go one-on-one and settle their differences in the squared circle at Saturday Night’s Main Event.”

Elsewhere on the special, Goldberg will wrestle for the final time when he challenges Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. LA Knight takes on Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre meets Randy Orton.
