Tiffany Stratton Felt She Was Buried By Charlotte Flair
Tiffany Stratton has reflected on her controversial rivalry with Charlotte Flair.
On the April 4 edition of SmackDown, the storyline between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton became a little too real.
During a promo segment, the pair quickly decided following the script wasn’t for them and began trading increasingly personal insults. This saw Flair mock Stratton’s voice, while Stratton took repeated shots at Flair about her recent divorce.
The tension was reportedly in response to a segment a week earlier where Flair repeatedly talked over Stratton in a side-by-side interview.
Tiffany Stratton Was Buried By Charlotte Flair
During an appearance on the Gorilla Position podcast, Stratton looked back on her spat with Flair, noting that fans were quick to make their feelings known. The Women’s Champion conceded she was “buried” by Flair, before appearing to suggest she’s more than fine with losing at WrestleMania.
“Yeah, of course I hear all the noise. Twitter didn’t let me not hear all the noise. But congratulations to Charlotte, a 15-year veteran buried a rookie in an interview. I hope she got all of the TV time that she so desperately needs because clearly, she needs it more than I do.
So going into WrestleMania, I’m still just, I’m focused on beating her. If it were to happen where if Charlotte beats me, then you know what? I’ve got another WrestleMania. At least 10 more. At least.”
In response to a suggestion that Flair was simply testing her, Stratton said her rival was being a “big, mean veteran.”
In a recent interview, Seth Rollins said the spat between the pair could help their match and rivalry heading into WrestleMania. However, he did caution that if someone goes off script or deviates from the plan, they have to expect the same energy in return.
