When Thunder Rosa Is Expected To Return To AEW Revealed
A new report has shed light on when Thunder Rosa is expected to return to AEW after she was officially stripped of the AEW Women’s World Championship.
At Full Gear, Toni Storm lost the Interim AEW Women’s World Title in a hard-fought match against Jamie Hayter. On Dynamite in Chicago, however, it was announced by Renee Paquette that Hayter was not interim champion after all as Thunder Rosa had agreed to relinquish her claim on the title due to injury making the English star the undisputed AEW Women’s World Champion.
It was also noted on commentary that the decision to strip Thunder Rosa of the title meant that Toni Storm’s reign as interim champion is considered a fully-fledged AEW Women’s World Title reign for Storm.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer offered an insight as to why Thunder Rosa has been forced to give up her title now and when she is anticipated to return:
“The deal with Rosa was that, when she went down, she was going to lose the title at that pay-per-view (All Out) to Toni Storm. They expected her back in November/December, in that timeframe, and I think the feeling was, because of what happened with Punk, where they gave him a couple of months, to be consistent they would have to do the same thing here. Now it’s looking like February, so now I think they’re saying February’s too long.”
Thunder Rosa took to social media after the announcement was made where she thanked her fans for their continued support:
“Thank you #ThunderArmy for all the support and @aew for being there for me. Dream-like moments happened in this run, and this is not how I wanted to lose the championship, but you deserve a present champion; on to the next chapter.”
