Three WWE SmackDown Stars Qualify For Money In The Bank
The two WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Matches are nearly full after three controversial victories took place on SmackDown.
Money in the Bank has become one of the biggest WWE PLE events of the year due to the excitement that surrounds the event. The Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches are matches with a big reward since the winner will acquire a briefcase that has a guaranteed contract in it for a future championship match.
Damian Priest won the 2023 edition of Money in the Bank and he’s the current World Heavyweight Champion. Meanwhile, every woman who has won Money in the Bank has gone on to become a WWE Women’s Champion like IYO SKY did in 2023.
On WWE Smackdown in New York City, two Women’s MITB Qualifying matches took place. The first one involved Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and Candice LeRae. At one point in the match, Stratton’s friend Nia Jax argued with Bianca Belair on the floor, which led to LeRae’s friend Indi Hartwell shoving Cargill into the ring post. This left Stratton and LeRae alone in the ring, which led to Stratton hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the victory.
The second Women’s Money in the Bank match was a matchup between Indi Hartwell, Naomi, and Blair Davenport. After Hartwell threw Davenport into the steel steps, Cargill arrived at ringside and got payback on Indi by shoving her into the ring post. The referee saw it, but since triple threats have no disqualification in WWE, there was nothing that could be done. Naomi finished off Indi with a Full Nelson Slam for the win.
Naomi’s victory means the Women’s Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match looks like this: IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi vs. one more wrestler.
That sixth and final spot will take place on the July 1st edition of WWE Monday Night Raw when Zoey Stark, Dakota Kai & Ivy Nile have a triple threat match to determine the final entrant in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Who Won The Men’s Money In The Bank Qualifying Match On WWE SmackDown?
There was just one Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match on Smackdown from MSG. That match was between the United States Champion Logan Paul, his biggest rival LA Knight and Santos Escobar. The match also featured Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers supporting Paul while Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks was also at ringside.
Paul wanted Haliburton to give him the dreaded brass knuckles, but Brunson saw what was going on and got in Haliburton’s face, so Paul was unable to cheat like he has done many times in the past.
The finish saw Escobar charge at Knight, who moved and Knight hit BFT on Escobar. Paul rolled up Knight while using the tights, but Knight reversed it and Knight rolled up Paul while holding the tights for the pinfall win.
That win by LA Knight means the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match looks like this right now: Jey Uso vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade vs. Chad Gable vs. LA Knight vs. one more wrestler.
Raw on July 1st will have the final Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match when Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Ilja Dragunov will have a triple threat match to determine the final MITB entrant.
