The Young Bucks Issue Match Challenge While Teasing Ex-WWE Stars
The Young Bucks have issued a match challenge while teasing the idea that some former WWE superstars will be involved.
In the main event of AEW Dynasty, The Young Bucks duo of Matthew & Nicholas Jackson decided that it was the perfect time to end their latest sabbatical. The brothers returned to the company they founded by hitting Swerve Strickland with a BTE Trigger, which led to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley covering Swerve to keep his title.
On AEW Dynamite in Baltimore, The Young Bucks made their return to AEW’s flagship show for the first time since they lost the Tag Team Titles last October.
During their Dynamite promo, Nicholas Jackson claimed they cost Swerve the AEW World Title for their good friend “Hangman” Adam Page. Nick said that Page never wanted Swerve to be the champion again, so the Bucks did it for him. Nick said they love Hangman, and they know Hangman loves them too.
Matthew Jackson spoke about the possibility of his group known as The Elite possibly working together with Jon Moxley’s Death Riders group. Before it could get further, the Bucks’ former best friend Kenny Omega interrupted, berated his former pals and wanted a fight, but The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada showed up to help the Bucks. That’s when Swerve Strickland showed up, which led to the Bucks retreating with Okada.
It was mentioned by Swerve Stricklan that he was “Buck Hunting” meaning he wanted payback on the Bucks for what they did to him.
The Young Bucks Could Be Teaming Up With The Good Brothers In NJPW
In a video that was shown on New Japan’s social media channels, The Young Bucks appeared on their private plane to issue a match challenge.
The brothers spoke about wanting a fight at the NJPW Resurgence event on May 9th in Ontario, California, which is very close to where the Bucks live.
Matthew and Nicholas mentioned there were a lot of guys in the Bullet Club War Dogs, but only two of them. Matthew mentioned that they knew “a couple of OG friends” who are always up for a fight and mentioned that it would be “too sweet.” Nicholas awkwardly added that their friends are always ready to talk “shizz.” The “too sweet” phrase was also used.
What The Young Bucks said was an obvious reference to the former WWE superstars Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, who were released by WWE in early February. Anderson & Gallows worked together with The Young Bucks and many other prominent wrestlers in NJPW as part of The Bullet Club during their careers, so it makes a lot of them for them to join the Bucks in an 8-man tag team match.
