The Young Bucks Lose NJPW Tag Team Title
After just 35 days, The Young Bucks have hit disaster and lost their championship gold.
At Wrestle Dynasty, The Young Bucks captured the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships for the second time. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson defeated United Empire’s Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb as well as the Los Ingobernables De Japon team of Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi in a wild three-way bout that marked their triumphant return to NJPW after six years away.
After the victory, the EVPs said they had been “working from home for a while” but hinted at taking the titles back to AEW to show them off on MAX. But that’s not happening.
The Young Bucks Lose Title
At New Japan’s New Beginning event in Osaka, The Young Bucks defended their title against Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi. Naito and Takahashi were the team not pinned in the original three-way title match.
After a rough few months for The Bucks looked to have turned a corner, disaster struck in Osaka. Naito and Takahashi picked up the win ending Matthew and Nicholas’ title reign at just 35 days.
Now they’ve lost the title, that might be an indication that The Young Bucks are on the verge of returning to AEW. They might find a very different landscape waiting for them as their former partner in The Elite, Kenny Omega has formed a new dream team for Grand Slam Australia.
