The Young Bucks Agree To Huge Tag Team Match At AEW Full Gear
The Young Bucks will be in a major tag team match at AEW Full Gear against one of their best friends.
For several weeks now, former AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) have been frustrated with a number of things, mainly their friend Kenny Omega.
It is well known that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega are best friends as part of a group called The Elite along with “Hangman” Adam Page. While The Elite hasn’t broken up, recently on AEW television, Omega has found himself hanging around with Chris Jericho more than The Young Bucks.
This led to a backstage segment on AEW Dynamite in Portland when The Young Bucks interrupted Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega. At the time, Jericho & Omega (aka The Golden Jets) were getting interviewed about their big eight-man tag team match on the November 15th episode of Dynamite.
Matt Jackson spoke about how The Young Bucks & Omega started AEW, so Jericho said it was the four of them that started AEW. Matt said that Jericho just walked in and cashed another big check.
Jericho credited The Young Bucks for being a great tag team, but Jericho said that he thinks Jericho & Omega can beat them. Matt pitched Omega & Jericho facing The Young Bucks at Full Gear in Los Angeles, which is where The Young Bucks live.
Omega said that The Young Bucks are the greatest tag team of all time and he didn’t want to fight them. Omega spoke about how he’s beaten The Young Bucks before while saying he’s done it with Hangman and Ibushi in the past. Omega said if you really want to face them then they’ll do it and then maybe The Young Bucks will act like adults instead of acting like bitchy, whiny children. Jericho said he’ll be happy to beat their spoiled asses.
Later on Dynamite, AEW officially confirmed the match would happen at Full Gear.
The Young Bucks Will Put Tag Team Title Opportunity On The Line At AEW Full Gear
In addition to The Golden Jets facing The Young Bucks for the first time ever, The Young Bucks will also have to put their Tag Team Title opportunity on the line. At AEW WrestleDream, The Young Bucks won a four-team match to compete for the AEW Tag Team Titles.
During the promo exchange between Jericho/Omega and The Young Bucks, Jericho mentioned the Tag Team Title opportunity and said if The Golden Jets win, then The Golden Jets get the title match that The Young Bucks had. Matt Jackson agreed while adding that if The Young Bucks win then Omega & Jericho can’t team together again. The Golden Jets agreed to that as well.
"If you wanna do this tag-team thing all over again – We'll do it" – Kenny Omega
