The Young Bucks Hint At AEW Return

The Young Bucks AEW Tag Team Champions

The Young Bucks know they’ll be back in AEW.

On the October 30 edition of Dynamite, The Young Bucks lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Private Party and promptly walked out of the company.

Amid the chaos being created by the Death Riders, the Jackson brothers said things had become too crazy, and they’d be working from home. This was followed by a lengthy hiatus before they returned to the ring at Wrestle Dynasty in Japan on January 5, where they won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

It’s since been announced that The Young Bucks will make their first defence against Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11.

The Young Bucks Have An Eye On AEW Return

During a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Matt and Nick looked ahead to their future challenges, noting they have a “pretty good idea” when they’ll be back in AEW. Both men added that they’d love to wrestle Hiroshi Tanahashi before he retires in January 2026.

“We’re up for anything and everything,” said Matt. “It would be an honor to wrestle Tanahashi one last time. He can pick whomever he wants to team with, even if it’s Kenny.

We have a pretty good idea when we’ll report back to work at AEW and if we’re still having to pack those belts every time we travel, we’d be happy to bring them to AEW Dynamite.

“I’d love to do that match,” added Nick. “We have had many matches with Tana, but I’d love to get in there at least one more time before he calls it a career. Same goes with Kenny.

That’s the thing I think wrestling fans take for granted. We have no clue how many more matches any of us have left in the tank. I try to enjoy every match like it’s my last these days.”

Back in December, The Young Bucks claimed they deliberately had bad matches during their most recent AEW run to try and appear more heel-ish. They also confirmed they wanted to lose the AEW World Tag Team Titles several times before they finally did, but creative plans kept changing.

There remains no word on exactly when the Bucks will make their All Elite return.
