The Young Bucks Go Full Circle On AEW Anniversary

Young Bucks

Six years on from the announcement of AEW being formed, The Young Bucks have reflected on their full circle moment.

On the January 1 2019 episode of Being The Elite, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Adam Page gathered outside the Tokyo Dome as a countdown that had been teased for weeks ran down.

Rhodes and The Bucks showed their phones to reveal the logo for Double Or Nothing, the follow-up show to the hugely popular All In show in September 2018 that was financed by the three stars. However, Hangman Adam Page had something different on his phone as he revealed for the very first time the AEW logo and the wrestling world was changed forever.

Now six years on, AEW is a very different place. Cody Rhodes jumped ship back to WWE in 2022 and now rules his kingdom as Undisputed WWE Champion while Adam Page has gone through hell in the company and continues to do so on his quest to reclaim the AEW World Title but perhaps more importantly find some sort of peace.

The Young Bucks walked out of AEW after losing the AEW Tag Team Championship to Private Party in October 2024 claiming that they’d be working from home as the chaos caused by the Death Riders proved to be too much for them. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will be back in the Tokyo Dome for the first time since Wrestle Kingdom 12 in 2019 as part of Wrestle Dynasty.

Young Bucks Back At Scene Of AEW Announcement

Taking to social media, The Young Bucks reflected on their full circle moment as they returned to the building that had a big part to play in the formation of AEW:

Six years ago, we announced @AEW on BTE with Tokyo Dome behind us. Now, we return to the very place that this all started. See you back in Japan.

The Young Bucks will challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Dynasty while their former partner in The Elite Kenny Omega finally returns to the ring after a year out of action to face Gabe Kidd in the venue where he became an international sensation.
