The Young Bucks Comment That WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Hates

Cody Rhodes The Young Bucks All In

Cody Rhodes has revealed one comment from The Young Bucks that left him less than happy regarding his commitment to AEW.

Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks were the driving forces behind the formation of AEW in early 2019 following the success of their self-funded All In show in the fall of 2018.

With Tony Khan’s financial backing, AEW was born with Rhodes, The Bucks, and Kenny Omega being named as Executive Vice Presidents of the company as well as on-screen talent.

Many noticed that when AEW began in earnest, Rhodes was separated from his Elite stablemates very quickly as he launched his own Nightmare Family on the show which led to the first murmurings of discontent between the EVPs. Ultimately, Cody Rhodes left AEW in early 2022 before returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and it seems one comment from The Bucks definitely did hit a nerve.

Cody Rhodes Hates Young Bucks Remark About AEW Signing

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Cody Rhodes revealed that a comment in The Young Bucks’ about him being the last out of their group to sign on the dotted line to join AEW left him less than thrilled as he believes people took that to mean he was not as committed to the company as the others:

I hated that in The Young Bucks’ book, they said I was last to the signing. Because that’s a big thing. Some of the AEW defenders who don’t realize they’re turning people off to their product more than they’re turning people on, that’s one of the things that people always cite ‘Oh, he was last, he wasn’t that big a deal to the origin.’

No, this guy here who’s off camera was the first person to ever meet Tony and he met him in a vetting process for all of us. So yes, I guess I was the last and yes, I had different thoughts and it’s not incorrect at all what they said [that I was the last person to sign]. Yeah, it’s not incorrect but I was just as in on it as well as anybody else. That’s a little thing that when I write my book I get to tell [the story].

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently set out a huge SummerSlam challenge as he looks to take the fight to The Bloodline after their recent brutal attacks.
