The Young Bucks Praise 2 Surprising Teams For Boosting AEW’s Tag Team Division
The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, are definitely the OG tag team in AEW and have been part of the company since day one.
They recently talked on The Takedown on SI about how the AEW tag team division has changed and grown in 2025. They gave special shout outs to two new teams that really shook things up and helped make the division fresh and exciting again.
Those teams are JetSpeed, made up of Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight, and Brodido, featuring Brody King and Bandido. Matt Jackson praised the two teams and said they caught both their attention and fans’ ears, bringing new energy and fresh matchups.
“You know who’s really just caught my eye and the rest of the world’s eye it seems like, is a team like JetSpeed, a team like Brodido, who are the current champions. They came out of nowhere and it has been so fresh. I think the addition of those two teams specifically have really helped spark the tag division in 2025. It’s really helped us out because it’s given us new teams to play with.”
The Young Bucks Suffered a Major Loss at WrestleDream
At AEW WrestleDream 2025, Jurassic Express (Jack Perry and Luchasaurus) defeated The Young Bucks in an almost 22-minute tag match with a $500,000 prize at stake. The match was intense from the start with Luchasaurus showing his power and Perry delivering high-impact offense.
The Young Bucks controlled parts of the match, hitting signature moves like the BTE Trigger and double superkicks, but Jurassic Express always fought back strong. The climax came when Jurassic Express hit their finisher, Countdown to Extinction, on Matt Jackson for the pinfall victory. It was a huge win for Jurassic Express, but soon afterwards they were attacked by the Don Callis Family. But Kenny Omega made the save, and the babyfaces stood tall in the ring.
