The WWE Hall Of Famer Who Believes Sid Vicious Was The “Exact Opposite” Of His Wrestling Persona
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently paid tribute to the late Sid Vicious, offering a heartfelt reflection on the man behind the intimidating wrestling persona.
On his podcast “83 Weeks,” the WWE Hall of Famer shared his impressions of Sid, emphasising his positive and amiable presence backstage. Although they weren’t close friends, Bischoff recalled the impact Sid had on those around him.
I wasn’t real close to Sid, we weren’t good friends, we didn’t exchange texts and phone calls, and things like that, but, man, I really liked Sid,
Bischoff stated, highlighting the respect and admiration Sid earned from his peers, even from those with whom he wasn’t closely connected. Bischoff described Sid as a “gentle giant,” pointing out the stark contrast between his off-screen manner and his intense in-ring character.
This is a good human being, this is a good guy. Looking back, this is a guy that had his priorities straight. He was the embodiment of the gentle giant. He was the exact opposite of the character you saw.
Sid Vicious undoubtedly left a lasting legacy in the wrestling world, known for his fierce and commanding presence in the ring. However, as Bischoff’s reflections reveal, Sid was equally memorable for his warmth and humour behind the scenes. Often seen smiling and joking with his peers, Sid’s true nature was far removed from the intimidating figure fans saw on television.
