The WWE Hall Of Famer Who Believes Ric Flair Is Damaging His Legacy
WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts has raised concerns over the possibility of wrestling icon Ric Flair making yet another return to the ring, cautioning that it could impact the 75-year-old’s storied legacy.
During an episode of his podcast, The Snake Pit, Roberts addressed rumours surrounding Flair’s potential return to wrestling, a topic that has sparked debate among fans and industry insiders. Roberts’ plea to Flair was straightforward.
“Wow, please don’t, Ric. Please don’t.”
Roberts said, emphasising his strong opposition to the idea. When asked if he thought Flair’s repeated comebacks were affecting his legacy, Roberts expressed his disappointment.
“Yeah, it’s a shame, man, but he keeps grabbing for straws.”
Roberts added, pointing to what he sees as an unnecessary pursuit of past glory. Ric Flair often hailed as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, officially retired in 2008 after losing to Shawn Michaels in an emotional match at WrestleMania 24. His retirement capped off a career that spanned decades and earned him countless accolades.
Despite the iconic farewell, Flair has since laced up his boots for a few matches, including a highly publicised tag-team match alongside Andrade El Idolo against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, marketed as his “final match.” However, recent comments from Flair hint at the possibility of stepping back into the ring again for what he suggests would be another “final” match.
Which WWE Hall Of Famer Said Ric Flair Is The “Greatest World Champion Ever”?
Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton has spoken about how he believes Ric Flair is the “greatest world champion ever.” Morton said that while he doesn’t believe that Flair was the greatest wrestler to ever grace a ring, he does believe that he always gave fans their money’s worth when he competed as he would often wrestle for an hour or more every night while he was on top as champion.
