The WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff Says Was The Most Believable Character In Wrestling
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff shared his perspective on the lack of larger-than-life characters in modern professional wrestling, drawing comparisons to the late Big Van Vader.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff praised Vader’s unparalleled presence and reflected on their time together in WCW.
I’ve never had this thought before, but I really miss Vader. I don’t mean personally, but I miss a character like Vader. Somebody that was so massive, so powerful, and such an intimidating character. I mean, he’s about as believable as believable can be in the world of professional wrestling, and I miss characters like that.
Known for his imposing frame, fearsome red mask, and intense in-ring style, Vader left a lasting impact on wrestling fans across WCW and Japan. His matches became must-see events, showcasing a blend of brute strength and athleticism that few could rival. Bischoff noted that Vader’s authenticity and commanding presence remain unmatched in today’s wrestling landscape. Bischoff also reflected on the complexities of working with Vader behind the scenes, describing his unpredictable nature.
He was tough to work with at times. There were two Vaders: there was the nicest, sweetest, most gentle giant in the world, and there was the most obnoxious, aggressive bully. You never knew for sure which one you were gonna get.
Despite these challenges, Bischoff’s admiration for Vader shines through. His comments highlight not just Vader’s immense contributions to wrestling but also the void left by his absence.
Why Did Eric Bischoff Say Hulk Hogan Refused To Work With Vader In WCW?
Eric Bischoff spoke about why Hulk Hogan wouldn’t work against Vader in WCW and said that it was because of Vader’s stiff working style which Hogan didn’t want to have to deal with as he preferred to work more light and focus more on the character aspect of wrestling rather than having intense hard-hitting matches.
