The Undertaker’s Latest WWE Appearance Criticised By Hall Of Famer

The Undertaker

The Undertaker’s appearance during Raw’s Netflix debut did not impress Eric Bischoff.

There were a number of legendary Superstars present as WWE made its bow on the streaming giant, with the likes of The Rock and John Cena delighting those in attendance in Los Angeles on 6th January.

WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan also made an appearance on the evening, making international headlines after being greeted with a chorus of deafening boos by the Intuit Dome crowd.

Another man to make his presence felt on the historical evening was former WWE Champion, The Undertaker. The ‘Deadman’ rode to the ring to help Rhea Ripley celebrate regaining the WWE Women’s Championship from Liv Morgan, but his appearance did not meet the approval of everyone.

Speaking during a recent episode of his popular podcast, 83 Weeks, former Executive Director of SmackDown Eric Bischoff revealed that he was disappointed in the cameo from ‘The Demon of Death Valley’, insisting that fans would prefer to see the legendary Superstar without his trademark motorcycle:

“I didn’t like it.

I don’t think it gave the audience the opportunity to react to Undertaker the way they actually wanted to react to him. It was cool to see him, I’m sure for the audience, and they probably haven’t seen him come out on the motorcycle for a while.

So that’s cool and he got a great reaction, but not the same kind of reaction he would have received had he walked into that ring, whether he was in his Undertaker gear or not.

I think first of all, riding a motorcycle around a ring is f*****g awkward, it’s really awkward to maneuver that thing around the ring, even for a big guy like Taker, it’s awkward and it doesn’t look that cool.”

The Undertaker Did Not Return At The Expense Of Becky Lynch

Following his appearance on the 6th January edition of Raw, there were rumours that the inclusion of The Undertaker had led to the company dropping plans for the long-awaited return of Becky Lynch.

The ‘Irish Lass Kicker’ has been absent from WWE screens since suffering defeat to Liv Morgan on 27th May and many had anticipated that the Dublin-born Superstar would be a part of the company’s Netflix debut ahead of a potential WrestleMania programme with Rhea Ripley.

Fightful Select later cooled that rumour, however, reporting that Lynch was not in Los Angeles for the show with plans for her big return were not yet finalised.
