The Undertaker Recalls Ex-WWE Stars Giving Willie Nelson Unique Gifts

The Undertaker

The Undertaker has revealed a funny story that happened during Willie Nelson’s WWE visit at WrestleMania 7.

At WrestleMania 7 in 1991, country music legend Willie Nelson appeared at the show to sing America the Beautiful. That WrestleMania was also the first time that The Undertaker had a match at a WrestleMania, which saw the Deadman pick up a squash victory over WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.

In another match at WrestleMania 7, The Nasty Boys duo of Brian Knobbs & Jerry Sags challenged The Hart Foundation’s Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

That match saw Sags use Jimmy Hart’s helmet to hit Neidhart in the back without the referee seeing it and Knobbs covered Neidhart to get the win to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

Willie Nelson Was Given Tag Team Titles According To The Undertaker

During a recent episode of The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer shared a funny story involving The Nasty Boys and Nelson, who clearly enjoyed his time at WrestleMania 7.

“The Nasty Boys, after a show, go out on Willie’s bus, and they proceed to get right. They’re getting right with Willie. They’re drinking, they’re smoking, they’re having a good time. They won the Tag Team Titles that night. Before the night was over, they decided they were going to give Willie Nelson the Tag Team Titles. They did. They gave him the belts.”

“They had such a good time with Willie Nelson, but then it came at the end of the night and they realized, ‘Oh shit, we have to get those back.’ They had to go back to the bus and get the belts back. Willie is like, ‘You gave me these.’ They’re like, ‘I know, but we have to have them tomorrow for TV.’ They gave Willie Nelson the Tag Team Titles and then took them back in the same night. That’s classic Nasty Boys.”

The Undertaker went on to go 21-0 at WrestleMania before losing his first match to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 in 2014. As for Willie Nelson, he is 90 years old and still enjoying the high life.
