Why The Undertaker Believes The UK Has “Earned” WrestleMania
According to The Undertaker, WrestleMania has to go to the United Kingdom.
Back in January, a spokesperson for London Mayor Sadiq Khan said he remains determined to bring WrestleMania to the city.
The comments came after Khan met with Triple H and Nick Khan in July 2024 in a bid to get WWE to hold the spectacular in the UK. While the move would be popular with fans across the pond, the likes of Drew McIntyre, John Cena, and more have thrown their support behind the idea.
On the eve of WrestleMania 41, the idea has gained another high-profile supporter.
During an interview with Alex McCarthy for the Daily Mail, ‘Taker was asked about the prospect of WrestleMania heading to the UK, and it seems he’s very much in favour of the possibility.
“I think you guys [The United Kingdom] have more than earned it, and obviously you have the facilities and the capacity to do it. I’m just putting it out there. I don’t know anything, but I’m just saying, you guys should definitely be in line, that WrestleMania has to come to the United Kingdom.”
During his own interview with the same publication, Triple H denied that the NXT Europe project is dead, and reaffirmed his commitment to WWE’s expansion. The brand was first announced in September 2022 when it was revealed that NXT UK was being closed, with its titles merged with those in NXT.
However, since then, updates have been few and far between, and there seems to be no concrete plan on when the brand will finally see the light of day.
The Undertaker To Feature At WWE Hall Of Fame
It’s been announced that The Undertaker will induct his wife, Michelle McCool, into the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 41 weekend. ‘Taker was also the person who announced to McCool that she would be part of the class of 2025.
Elsewhere, Shawn Michaels will induct long-time best friend Triple H, and Lex Luger will be inducted by Diamond Dallas Page despite Luger also wanting Sting involved.
WWE’s first-ever “Immortal Moment” induction will be handled by CM Punk when he leads the celebration for Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart from WrestleMania 13. The legendary match took place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
