The Undertaker Reacts To Tribute At WWE Crown Jewel

The Undertaker WWE Hall of Fame

A Tombstone was used during WWE Crown Jewel, and The Undertaker had some thoughts on what he saw.

The John Cena-AJ Styles match at WWE Crown Jewel was an absolute classic, with Cena scoring the big win, marking his 100th PLE victory.

During the match, Cena and Styles paid tribute to many wrestlers that they had faced off with in their careers. Cena hit moves like The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale, Randy Orton’s RKO, and Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail neckbreaker, among others. Styles did Sting’s Scorpion Death Drop, Samoa Joe’s Coquina Clutch, and even the Sweet Chin Music by Shawn Michaels too.

At the end of the match, Styles jumped into Cena’s arms, Cena caught him, and Cena hit a Tombstone piledriver like The Undertaker. Earlier in the match, Cena also did a Chokeslam like Taker and Big Show. After hitting the Tombstone, Cena hit Styles with a final Attitude Adjustment to win the match.

The Undertaker was watching and addressed it on social media with praise.

Thank you @JohnCena and thank you @AJStylesOrg. A masterclass and beautiful tribute to wrestling.

The #WWEUniverse said it…but that was AWESOME!

Although The Undertaker didn’t have many matches with John Cena, they did have a brief match at WrestleMania 34 that The Undertaker won. Meanwhile, Undertaker’s final match was at WrestleMania 36 against AJ Styles. Taker retired later that year in 2020.

John Cena Was Disappointed By How His WrestleMania Match With The Undertaker Went

At WrestleMania 34, the story was that John Cena wanted a WrestleMania match with The Undertaker, and we had to tune into the show to see if it would happen. Cena literally sat in the crowd for a few hours when he found out it was going to happen.

When they had the match, Taker beat Cena in about three minutes, almost as if it were a squash match on WWE Superstars in the early 1990s.

Former WWE Superstar Elias spoke about how John Cena wasn’t happy with the length of his WrestleMania match with The Undertaker, as they had wanted to have a classic match.

I know that Undertaker trained for a long match, and John wanted to have this. John Cena and The Undertaker, you want to see them have like a classic WrestleMania match if they’re going to do it right. But Vince had some sort of vision there for that whole segment, and he’s calling the shots.

I was there when John had found out. When he found out, he was very disappointed. He’s such a soldier for the company that he just goes to work, does what he has to do. He’ll make anything great.

John Cena has just four more appearances left on his retirement tour, which will likely lead to at least two matches, but it could be more.
