The Undertaker Allegedly Would Return To WWE Ring For One Reason

The Undertaker

The Undertaker officially retired from in-ring competition at WWE’s Survivor Series event on November 22, 2020, in a heartfelt farewell after a legendary 30-year career.

His final match was a Boneyard match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 in April 2020, where he secured a victory. This marked the end of his active wrestling career after making his WWE debut in 1990. Though he had hinted at retirement earlier after WrestleMania 33 in 2017, the 2020 announcement was the definitive end, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers in history.

The Undertaker Might Return for a Massive Paycheck

Speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, Disco Inferno discussed the possibility of The Undertaker returning to the squared circle. WWE is scheduled to hold the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Disco said that the Saudi financiers could offer several million dollars to see The Phenom step back into the ring.

“I think the most important thing is how much the Saudis are willing to pay him for a match. I think he would be willing to come back for that cash grab. A big match. If they give him $2 million for one match, you know, whatever it is, like what if the number is so ridiculous, like $5 million?” (1:45 to 2:03)

Given Saudi Arabia’s deep pockets and WWE’s increasing partnership with the country, Disco speculated that this financial incentive might tempt The Undertaker to make a one-time return despite his retirement. However, such a comeback would depend on The Undertaker’s willingness and physical condition.

The Dead Man Doesn’t See Himself Returning to the Ring

On the August 2025 episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, Bubba Ray Dudley asked The Undertaker whether any “ridiculous offer” could convince him to wrestle one last time. The 60-year-old WWE legend answered in the negative.

He explained that putting on his iconic jacket and hat again would require entering the ring, which he cannot do without risking his carefully preserved legacy. He added that his legacy and personal health take precedence over returning, despite lucrative offers.

No. I don’t think…look, the only way that I could put the hat and the coat back on is I’d have to get back in the ring. And I can’t do that because that also jeopardizes the legacy. As much as I have here [points to head] and as much as I have here [points to heart], I know that there’s not enough left in the tank to do that. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
