The Undertaker Remembers Being On First-Ever Raw In 1993 & The Netflix Debut In 2025
WWE icon The Undertaker shared his thoughts on being part of two groundbreaking moments in Monday Night Raw history—its debut episode in 1993 and its transition to Netflix in 2025.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker reminisced about wrestling on Raw’s inaugural episode on January 11, 1993, where he secured a victory against Damien Demento. He emphasised how significant WWE’s move to live television was at the time.
“I look back to how big and significant going to live TV was and just think about that because prior to January 1993, we taped everything and the only talent you saw was talent in enhancement matches. You didn’t see any main event kind of stuff that you started getting on live TV.”
Fast forward 31 years, and WWE once again made history with Raw’s streaming debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Undertaker reflected on the evolution of the wrestling industry and his pride in being part of both landmark moments.
“So just think from how big that was for the wrestling industry to here we are 31 years later with something that is just mind-blowing. It’s crazy, but for me, the real icing on the cake is to actually be a part of both of those shows. So whatever happens in 31 more years—which I don’t think I’m going to be around for—it was kind of cool to say that two of the biggest things that have happened in the wrestling industry, I was a part of.”
As Raw enters a new era with its move to Netflix, Undertaker’s legacy remains intertwined with the show’s biggest milestones.
What Does The Undertaker Expect From John Cena’s Retirement Year?
The Undertaker spoke about what he expects to happen in John Cena’s retirement year and said that he doesn’t expect that Cena will have any crazy matches but will have some good matches where he will likely win some and lose some, but that overall it will be a great thing for WWE and its fans.
