The Undertaker Caught The Rock In The Act
The Undertaker had problems getting The Rock to focus.
Despite never being thought of as rivals, The Rock and The Undertaker wrestled on no less than 93 occasions during their careers, with many of these battles involving World Championship gold.
The pair most recently came face to face at WrestleMania 40, with The Deadman giving Rock a huge Chokeslam in the wild main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
During an interview with D-Von Dudley, ‘Taker looked back at working with The Great One, recalling one occasion where the star was watching himself lay the smackdown on the titantron rather than looking at him — the man he was beating down.
“Funny thing about Rock, and I don’t know if you ever experienced it, so Rock loved to kick my ass with my back to the Tron, right? Do you know why? So he could watch himself kick my ass on the Tron. I swear to you, he would be wearing me out and not even looking at me. He’s just sitting there, hitting me like this, watching himself on the Tron kick my ass.
I remember once I told him. I said, ‘I’m gonna sell for you, but can you at least look at me while you’re kicking my ass?’ He had to laugh because he knew I busted him. He admitted it. He had no choice. He knew that I had busted him.”
The Undertaker Doesn’t Want To Be On Television
Speaking on his own podcast, The Undertaker said he wants to be on WWE television less in the future stating: “There needs to be less of me moving forward and more focus on the talent roster that we have.”
The veteran added that he’s wary of becoming a distraction, although he will still appear if he feels it’s the right moment. The Deadman revealed that he even went to Triple H with his concerns, suggesting older stars such as himself should only appear every couple of years.
During the same conversation, ‘Taker admitted he initially turned down appearing alongside Rhea Ripley on January 6th until the segment was changed.
