The Rock’s Former Faction Belongs In WWE Hall Of Fame

The Rock WWE Hall Of Fame

A former WWE star thinks the faction that helped launch The Rock belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Introduced as WWE’s first-ever third-generation star when he made his in-ring debut at Survivor Series 1996, it was a slow start to life in the ring for The Rock.

The fans didn’t take to the man then called Rocky Maivia, quickly turning on him despite WWE’s best efforts to build a new hero. Famously, once Maivia joined the Nation of Domination and became a heel, things began to change. Now teamed up with Ron Simmons, D-Lo Brown, The Godfather, and Mark Henry, The Rock was born, and success soon came quickly.

The Rock Deserves Faction WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Speaking on The Velvet Ropes with So Cal Val, D-Lo Brown explained why he thinks the Nation of Domination belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame:

Here’s my thing. I believe, not just because I’m part of the Nation. If I wasn’t part of the Nation, I would say the Nation deserves being a Hall of Fame. If you look at what a faction does, usually, a faction is to elevate one person out of the group, i.e. Flair with the Horsemen. The thing with the Nation was every member, and we think about the core unit of Rocky, Mark, Godfather, Ron and myself… every one of us got better after being in the Nation.

So that shows what kind of foundation the Nation gave all of us. And it lifted us all up. And then for the fact that the Nation should be in the Hall of Fame, because 30 years later, anytime you put a faction of two or three black guys together, people are already calling it the new Nation. That tells you its footprint in wrestling. Just for that mere fact alone, it should be represented in the Hall of Fame with the other great acts of the last 100 years.

The Nation of Domination also included Crush, Savio Vega, Clarence Mason, Ahmed Johnson, and Owen Hart at different times.
