The Rock’s “Black Adam” Film Breaks Record Grossing $130 Million
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is breaking records and raking in cash.
The movie “Black Adam” stars former WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular character of the film, which was released in theaters on a global scale on Friday, October 21, 2022, with mixed responses from both fans and critics.
The movie is Johnson’s first project in the DC Comics universe, with it being a spin-off to “Shazam!,” which was released in 2019. Johnson was actually supposed to be in that movie introduced as Black Adam, however, The Rock pushed for the character to have his own movie.
As far as The Rock’s performance, he’s received praise from critics for his acting, however, other elements of the film haven’t gotten the same love. Regardless, “Black Adam” is expected to pull in over $60 million in the United States of America, and another $70+ million across the world, reports PWInsider. As a result, the movie is The Rock’s biggest weekend box office debut with him starring as the top role.
This phenomenal 90% AUDIENCE SCORE for #BlackAdam is so gratifying for so many reasons.

For DC Comics, they scored a major victory with the success of “Black Adam,” with it being the biggest film debut for the franchise outside of Batman movies. According to reports coming out of DC Comics, people within the company feel like the movie will help DC gain back momentum, especially with the push they’re receiving from their new regime of Warner Bros. Discovery.
