The Rock’s Popular WWE Move Makes Its Way To Iconic Video Game

A wrestling move that The Rock won a lot of matches with is now featured in one of the greatest video game franchises ever.

The EA Sports Madden NFL video game franchise can officially smell what The Rock is cooking.

Fans of American pro football have been playing and enjoying the Madden NFL video game franchise since it was introduced in 1988, with the late, great Pro Football Hall of Famer John Madden doing his part to bring the game to life. For every season since 1988, Madden has been the official NFL game for what is now a 38th consecutive season.

Part of the Madden experience is the unique celebrations in the game whenever somebody scores a touchdown or makes a big play.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no stranger to the world of football, having been a great collegiate player at the University of Miami before trying to make it in the CFL in Canada. When that didn’t work, as the well-known story goes, Rock got his father, Rocky Johnson, to train him to be a pro wrestler, and by late 1996, he was on WWE TV as Rocky Maivia. The rest, as they say, is history.

While his football playing days are over, The Rock is one of the co-owners of the UFL spring football league, featuring players hoping to find success and hopefully make it to the NFL.

The Rock’s People’s Elbow Is Featured In NFL Madden 25

During his incredible career as a 10-time World Champion (8 WWE World Titles, 2 WCW World Titles), The Rock often beat his opponents with either the Rock Bottom or the People’s Elbow.

The People’s Elbow is a ridiculous move where Rock would throw his elbow pad into the crowd, bounce off the ropes twice, and hit an elaborate elbow drop while spinning his leg around.

As you can see in the video below, a player got a touchdown in a game, then used his teammates as if they were ropes, and followed up with a dramatic People’s Elbow. It’s a move that The Rock started doing about 27 years ago, yet it finally has made its way into the official video game of the NFL.
