The Rock May Have Dropped WrestleMania 40 Hint On WWE SmackDown
The Rock may have teased something big at WrestleMania 40 with what he said and how he said it on WWE SmackDown.
In the main event of WWE SmackDown on February 16th, Roman Reigns confirmed with the WWE audience that The Rock is now part of The Bloodline. It was also confirmed by The Rock when he did his promo and he ended it by saying: “If you smell what The Bloodline is cooking.”
Before the ending of his promo, The Rock insulted the fans heavily and was in heel mode similar to what he did in the late 1990s and his memorable 2003 run. The Rock also blamed the fans for wanting to see Cody Rhodes against the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 instead of Rock against Reigns, which is what Rock and Reigns both wanted.
After telling the crowd they were “spoiled, entitled, crybaby bi**es,” The Rock turned his attention back to the WrestleMania 40 match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The next part is what was key in the promo when The Rock said this.
“Cody Rhodes, make one thing perfectly clear, The Rock is going to do everything in his power to make sure you walk out of WrestleMania (camera change so it looks like Rock is pointing at Reigns) what you are, which is a loser.”
In the photo below, that was when Rock said the line about making you a loser at WrestleMania. He started the promo talking about Cody Rhodes, but the camera change happened right when it looked like Rock was pointing at Riengs. As you can also see in the photo below, Reigns wasn’t looking at Rock when he said it. Neither was Jimmy Uso. However, Solo SIkoa and Paul Heyman were looking at Rock when he did it.
It’s certainly possible that this could be nothing, but the fact that WWE changed cameras exactly when Rock was pointing in Reigns’ direction was very telling.
Could this mean The Rock isn’t genuine about being part of The Bloodline and working with his “cousin” Reigns? Time will tell to see how long this alliance lasts.
The Rock May Be Part Of WrestleMania 40 Tag Team Match
A new trailer was released by WWE earlier this week that shows Roman Reigns & The Rock standing side by side while staring at Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins. It was likely filmed when the four men were together in Las Vegas at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event.
It has led to a lot of speculation that a tag team match between The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins could headline WrestleMania 40 Night 1 and it would be a way to get The Rock back in a WWE ring. That would also lead to Reigns-Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40 Night 2.
The full main event segment from Smackdown was posted on WWE’s YouTube channel and it has over 2.5 million views in less than 24 hours.
