The Rock Allegedly Wants To Replace Triple H With Ex-WWE Name
With numerous media reports suggesting that not all is well within the WWE, rumors suggested a few shake-ups could take place in the coming months.
In a surprising claim, former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman said that there may be angles being run to oust Triple H altogether.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque currently holds the title of Chief Content Officer and is responsible for the brand’s programming and creative direction.
While appearing on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, ‘Coach’ made various predictions based on his knowledge of WWE and his interactions with a few company insiders.
One of his claims was that Triple H may exit within the next 18 months due to the prevailing power struggle among the board of directors.
At one point during the discussion, host John Poz asked about the ideal candidate for Triple H’s job, considering he works 80 hours a week.
Coach was ready with an answer this time, too.
Here’s my prediction, is that the Rock wants Brian Gewirtz to be the head of creative again. I actually sublet my very first apartment when I moved to Stamford, Connecticut, back in 2000. It was his apartment. So, I’ve known him for a really long time and I’ve got a lot of respect for his creativity, but there’s no way that Brian could come back. He used to be the head writer of Raw.
The Rock & Gewirtz Connection
The Rock and Brian Gewirtz have had a long-standing relationship since his wrestling days in the WWE.
Gewirtz then left the company in 2015 to join Seven Bucks Productions, a company run by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his ex-wife Dany Garcia.
Coachman also shared that the bond between Johnson and Gewirtz has always been strong, having known each other for over two decades.
Gewirtz has admitted to being happy to see Triple H run creative control in WWE.
