The Rock Cuts Vince McMahon From WWE Announcement

The Rock WWE TKO

The Rock is on the TKO Board of Directors and Vince McMahon is now gone after one of the most historic weeks in the history of WWE.

The 23rd of January 2024 marked a high point for TKO as WWE announced a $5 billion deal with Netflix for the streaming giant to become the new home of Raw. That announcement came on the same day that it was announced that The Rock had been appointed to the TKO Board of Directors.

However, it did not take long for the bubble to burst as the bad news outweighed the good.

Vince McMahon was accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking in a bombshell new lawsuit. As a result, Vince McMahon ultimately resigned from TKO as the company’s Executive Chairman. Unlike in 2022 when McMahon briefly retired, there now seems to be no mechanism for him to return meaning his time in WWE looks to be permanently at an end.

The Rock Celebrates TKO Deal Without Vince McMahon

Now The Rock has let fans see a little behind the scenes of his appointment to the TKO board with a new video posted on social media. However, what is noticeable is that as much of Vince McMahon has been cut from the video as possible with the disgraced former chairman only visible for a short clip of The Rock ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Instead, The Rock is seen multiple times with Endeavor boss Ari Emanuel while WWE President Nick Khan is also seen several times. Accompanying the video, The Rock also ignored McMahon as he thanked his new partners in TKO and WWE:

My honor to join @TKOGrp Board of Directors (who owns @wwe & @ufc) An historic day of big business with deep and personal “life comes full circle” significance for me. I have the privilege now to sit at the table, that my grandfather and my dad helped to build. Now the fun part – we go to work. We build. Thank you to my TKO/WWE partners-
